The Working Group on Healthcare Waste deals with all aspects of waste derived from healthcare services and products. The group collaborates internally on select projects and reports. There is also an on-going external collaboration with the WHO. The Group holds meetings at least twice a year to enhance the internal collaboration.

ISWA-SWIS two week Winter School. Participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on the potential and challenges of sustainable waste management, including landfill and landfill mining.
The ISWA board meets multiple times per year and are responsible for all policies, finances and operations of ISWA.
Initiated by the United Nations Environmental Program, ISWA is actively working towards the development of a legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment.
