Webinar | Launch of new WHO publication: Global analysis of healthcare waste in the context of COVID-19

This one hour webinar is being held to mark the launch of a new WHO publication which quantifies the additional COVID-19 healthcare waste generated, describes current healthcare waste management systems and their deficiencies, and summarizes emerging best practices and solutions to reduce the impact of waste on human and environmental health.

The webinar will include a:
• Presentation of document findings and recommendations
• Summary of implications for countries and partners
• Help to increase awareness of issues related to waste generated as a result of COVID-19, share examples of innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions and how they apply to countries and partners.

The report is supported through ISWA by Dr. Anne Woolridge, chair of the ISWA Healthcare Waste Working Group and vice-chair of the ISWA Scientific and Technical Committee.
