ISWA is delighted to welcome Pragma Soluções Sustentáveis as our latest Gold Member.
Pragma Soluções Sustentáveis is a link that connects people, private and public institutions and civil society to make the planet sustainable. They are specialists in the circular economy, reverse logistics for post-consumer packaging and projects that have a positive impact on society. Pragma is a Brazilian company, mostly made up of women, which works to engage society in the correct disposal of waste, while also collaborating in the socio-economic inclusion of vulnerable populations, whose main source of income is waste. They are connected to the global challenges of tackling climate change and are working to build a sustainable planet.
“Brazil generates 81,8 million tons of solid waste a year and only 4% of what is produced here is recycled. Their challenge is huge and they believe that in order to improve recycling rates and the transition to a circular economy, they need to create global connections and build solutions together. Being a member of the only global association that works exclusively in the solid waste sector is part of their strategy, as they recognize the value of exchanging information and experiences at a global level, in all aspects of solid waste management.”
