ISWA Welcomes New Platinum Member Braskem

Dec 20, 2022 | ISWA blog, ISWA news

ISWA is delighted to welcome Braskem as our latest Platinum Member.

Created in August 2002 by the integration of six companies from Odebrecht Group and the Mariani Group, Braskem is currently the largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas and the largest producer of polypropylene in the United States. Its production focuses on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polyvinylchloride (PVC) resins, in addition to basic chemical inputs such as ethylene, propylene, butadiene, benzene, toluene, chlorine, soda, and solvents, among others. Together, they make up one of the most comprehensive portfolios in the industry by also including the green polyethylene produced from the sugarcane, from 100% renewable sources. Braskem is part of the chemical and petrochemical industry, which has a significant share in several supply chains and is essential for economic development.

“Braskem has always sought to be a protagonist in environmental issues. For this reason, it has increasingly sought to improve its management in various areas. For this, it seeks reference entities and specialists to help it tread this path. The search for ISWA also comes in this direction. We want to be a reference in waste management and we understand that ISWA, with its scope, can help us achieve this goal”
